Beef with Carrots, Cashews and Spring Onions

Cost: About 40 Shekels (11 US Dollars)

300 grams beef in small cubes

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 clove garlic

3 spring onions cut up

1-2 carrots in strips

2 tablespoons soya

2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce

½ teaspoon dried chili flakes

1 teaspoon honey

100 ml water

Black pepper

Corn starch

Cashew Nuts

                                               

Heat the oils in a wok or deep frying pan. Add the beef and fry until brown. Add the carrots, the white parts of the spring onion and the garlic and cook for a minute. Add the soya, teriyaki, chili, honey, pepper and water and cook again for about 5 minutes. Add a bit of cornstarch if you wish to thicken the sauce. Sprinkle with the green parts of the spring onion and cashew nuts and serve with rice or noodles.
