What is Worth Spending your Money on?

I have never paid anyone to clean my home. I have thought about it, even dreamt about it at certain times, but every time I have come to the conclusion that it is not a thing that I want to spend my money on. I have also never paid for a facial or any other cosmetic procedure. Sure, I have considered it and would want to try it sometime, but not at this point in time.

We are putting a lot of effort into keeping our spending down, because we believe that by doing that, we will have to spend less time earning money thus giving us more time for other things. During this process we have been happy to discover, that many times it is possible to earn money by doing things you love and that is a real plus!

All people are different and what works for us doesn’t necessarily work for you. We have discovered for example, that it is relatively easy for us to keep our spending low on things like groceries, take-away, restaurants and clothes. For us these things add a limited amount of value towards things like happiness, satisfaction or content in our lives. Having lunch every day with the kids does however add that kind of value and is therefore worthwhile for us to be able to do that.

I am not against spending money on cleaning, facials, restaurants or clothing. What I am saying is that for me personally, spending money on those things keeps me from doing certain things that I would rather do and therefore for me (us) it is worth the effort of saving. For some, paying someone else to clean their house, will add that extra value and therefore be worth it for them.

The important part is to know what the things are that add value to your life, that makes you happy and content. That is where you want to spend your money and your time! Spend some time to figure out what those things are and start spending your money where you can honestly say that it was worth it – to you!
