Chicken in tempura

chicken tempura

Cost: About NIS 30 (USD 8.5)

500 g chicken breast cut in strips (about 2 cm wide) or chicken tenders

1 cup tempura mix

1 cup cold soda water

Salt

Oil for frying

Mix the tempura mix with the cold soda water and a bit of salt. You should get a consistency that is not too thick.

Dip the chicken in the batter and then shake off the excess. Pour the oil in a pan or skillet and once it is hot, fry the chicken in small batches for about 5 minutes and then drain on paper towels.

Serve with vegetables and sweet-and-sour sauce.
