A Budget-friendly activity with Kids – DIY painted stone magnets

February 11, 2016 By: veronicacomment

DIY painted stone magnetsOne of the great things for me about having kids is getting to do lots of crafts. I mean, of course you can do those just by yourself, but I love the way I get to be creative while having quality time with them at the same time. And to see the creative and innovative mind of a child is just amazing!

There are a lot of activities out there to do with the kids like the cinema, theme parks or the bowling alley (for example), which are fun and is something that we do once in a while. I have realized, though, that interestingly enough it is the activities like the walk on the beach, picnic in the park or sitting around the dinner table doings crafts, that gives us the most bonding time as a family. And they almost don’t cost a thing!

In my opinion, the beach in winter is one of the most beautiful things. My family tends to agree and that is why that we have been going a lot in the last couple of months. We collect a lot of nice stones, seashells and driftwood. It is a great activity in itself and this time we made it a double one by painting the stones and driftwood and making them into magnets.

All you need for this activity is acrylic paint in different colors and paintbrushes as well as glue and magnets. All in all a really fun, low-cost activity that is useful and looks good as well!
