One of the things we have almost cut out of our budget is take away dinners. Not because we don’t like them, but because that we felt that it is a lot of money that does not always the justify the outcome and because that we felt that it is one of the things we can cut down without too much pain.
That doesn’t mean that we don’t have a craving for pizza, burgers or sushi once in a while, but instead of buying it, we cook those same dishes ourselves. For us that means that we have to work a bit harder for the meal, but get a healthier and cheaper meal in return.
Here is our meal plan for the coming week:
Sunday: Tomato soup with peanut butter
Monday: Risotto with green peas and lemon
Tuesday: Meat balls in tomato sauce
Wednesday: Potato salad with homemade mayonnaise
Thursday: Homemade sushi with salmon and avocado
And something sweet for the weekend: Almond cookies with raspberry jam
