Ground beef and mashed potato casserole

cowboygratin

Cost: About NIS 30 (USD 8.5)

Oil

500 g ground beef

1 minced onion

1 minced garlic clove

1  carrot in cubes

1 teaspoon sweet paprika

Salt and Pepper

Mashed potatoes from 4 big potatoes

Fry the onion and garlic in a bit of oil for a few minutes, then add the carrots and the beef and cook until browned. Add the spices.

In the meantime, cook the potatoes until soft and mash. I use 2 tablespoons of butter and milk until it is smooth but basically any way will do.

Place the beef in the bottom of a dish, then cover with the mashed potatoes. Shredded cheese can be added on top.

Bake in 200 C for about 30 minutes or until the mashed potatoes are turning golden.
