Pasta Bolognese

bolognese

Cost: About 30 Shekels (US Dollars 8.5)

Olive oil

500g ground beef

1 clove garlic

1/2 onion

1 large carrot

2 bay leaves

1 can good quality tomatoes

400 ml water

Salt and pepper

Cut the garlic and onion into fine cubes and fry for a few minutes in the olive oil. Add the beef and cook until browned. Cut the carrot into small cubes and add as well together with the bay leaves. Pour in the tomatoes and the water and cook on low heat for at least an hour. You might have to add more water during the process. After about an hour, season with salt and pepper and serve with any kind of pasta.
