I like to organize. I like DIY projects. I like doing crafts with my children. I like Ikea. So really, what is not to like in this particular project? 😉
Do you know the term “Ikea hacks”? If yes, you know that that is what I did here and if not, a Google or Pinterest search will give you lots of ideas. Basically it is taking an Ikea product and using it in another way than originally planned.
For this particular notice board, I used AVSKILD cork placemats that come in packages of four (NIS 19/ USD 4.5). Using painter’s tape, I placed long strips of it on the boards diagonally and had the kids help me paint the cork in between with acrylic paint. Once the paint was dry, we removed the tape and hanged the mats on the wall using double sided tape.
I have wanted a notice board for quite a while and quite happy with the result. For now, it just looks empty and pretty, but I am sure that we will fill it up with all sorts of things very soon….
How thick are these mats? I only see length and width online. Thanks!
