My Dear Daughter has been talking for a while about wanting me to sew her a dress. She noticed that lately I have been using the sewing machine more frequently and therefore stated, that now it is her turn!
Having the kids home this week as it is already (!) Passover holiday makes it kind of a juggle between being with them and having some fun and at the same time trying to get some work done. So yesterday we went to Tel Aviv and did a combination of both; first a meeting with the accountant and then a fun trip around the city.
My favorite place to buy fabrics is in Nachalat Binyamin. So great with a whole street more or less dedicated to fabrics of any kind. You can find anything there and the prices are ok too.
So that is where I took her yesterday, so that she could chooses her own fabric for the dress. As expected she chose something pink 🙂 Having no patience (I wonder where she gets that from?) I had to promise her that I would sew her the dress already today.
The pattern I took from a book I bought once with children clothes pattern. Seeing that all the patterns are for 1 to 4 year olds made me realize that it has really been a while since I sewed something for her….
Anyway, it went quite well but took a bit of time. We had fun together and in the end I let her sew a bit on her own making herself a scrunchie to match the dress 🙂
The cost of the project as a whole, including fabric and zipper, was 25 Shekels (US Dollar 7).
