You know the feeling when sometimes you just need some kind of change the house? That’s how I felt this past Saturday. The weather was not great and I was home alone with kids. I admit that I am very far from being some kind of interior design person but occasionally I like to see and read articles on the subject to get ideas (I actually have a professional in the family, so let’s see what she says!). To my defense, I have to say that I actually have lots of ideas, it is more the actual execution of them that is somewhat lacking….
Anyhow, I remembered seeing different articles on how to get “color” into your home and also that we had some bright yellow paint left from a project we did do. So I decided that the ugly bookshelf in the corner of the living room will be the perfect candidate.
So what did it take? Two very happy kids, one ugly bookshelf, some leftover paint, some old newspapers and a small paint roll. The labor was cheap (free!) and it took less than an hour.
In the end it is not worthwhile to argue about taste. I like it and so does the kids! Let’s wait and see what Dear Husband says as he hasn’t seen it yet.
