These are really very good (you are welcome to ask the kids) and very easy to make. What I like most about them that you just mix everything together in a bowl and even don’t have to touch the dough.
4 dl lukewarm water
1 dl milk
10 grams yeast
¾ cup oatmeal
1 big shredded carrot
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup whole wheat flour
About 2 cups wheat flour
Mix the water and the milk and then mix in the yeast. Add oatmeal and carrots and mix again. Add the salt and all the flour and mix well. When the dough is still sticky but hard to mix cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it raise for about an hour or more if you have the time.
With two spoons place the dough on a baking sheet. Make sure that they are not placed to close to each other. I made 9 buns out of the dough. Leave them to raise again for about 30 minutes.
In the meantime, heat the oven to 250 degrees Celsius. Bake the buns at this heat for 5 minutes then reduce to 220 degrees and bake for 15-20 minutes more.
Great for the kids’ lunch or just any sandwich….
