DIY Fabric Printing with Fruits or Things to do with the Kids

October 1, 2015 By: veronicacomment

fabric print diyI apologize in advance that I am going to rant for a bit. Summer holiday was 2 months long. It was fine and even fun. Then they went back to school for a week and a half and again holidays. On and off for a month almost of which we are now in the very last days. And we are all going a little bit crazy….

To make the time pass a bit faster and because it is fun, we made this project yesterday. I have wanted to print on fabric for a while now and there are lots of ideas to do so out there.

Basically you can use more or less anything as printing stamps, we used lemons, apples and potatoes, fabric colors, painting brushes and pre-sewn fabric bags (about NIS 6/USD 1.5 at the local hobby store). Tip: Place a plastic bag inside the cloth bag or under the fabric while painting so that the paint does not go through to the other side.

That’s that. A really fun project where the imagination is the only limit. My bag was with fruit stamps only, while the kids were mixed with free style paintings. All are happy with the results and looking forward to using the bags for gym shoes, etc. once they go back to school next week 🙂
