Taking Time Off and why that is a Good Thing

April 14, 2015 By: veronica2 Comments

So it has been two weeks since I was here last. It wasn’t the original plan but that is the way it turned out. I am quite sure that it is a good thing.

A little more than two weeks ago we flew off to Denmark for a Pesach/ Easter holiday with the family. Because the blog is an online thing, it doesn’t really matter where I am to be able to post on it. And that was also the plan; to continue to write and post, even while we were away.

Pretty fast though, we settled into holiday mode without the daily schedule, tasks, etc. and it was so nice. Suddenly it all seemed so far away, work, school and all the rest…. And then I decided that if it is holiday then it is holiday!
I love writing the blog and the truth is that it doesn’t feel like work, but still I thing that it can be a good thing to put all our everyday things on hold for a while and dedicate ourselves fully to others things. Taking a break or a step back for a certain period of time, whether a day, a week or a month, puts everything in perspective, makes us look at things differently and can give us the needed push to again return to those everyday things with renewed energy, thoughts and ideas.

Because as much as I love holidays, I have to say that the everyday isn’t all bad either. The thing is that without the everyday routine we wouldn’t really appreciate the holidays as well as the other way around.

And with that being sad, it is now time to get back to work! 😉

    Hi Veronica!

I love your site design and felt warmly welcomed upon arrival. Your use of photos and the way you expressed yourself are wonderful.

I am also a big fan of “routine”. It keeps us grounded in my opinion. And like you said, it’s what makes us appreciate down time all the more.

    Keep rockin!

      Hi Laura Beth,
Thanks so much for your encouragement and feedback! The Summer holiday is just about over and I am again looking forward to getting back to “normal” 😉
