Chili Con Carne

chili con carne

Cost: About 40 Shekels (11 US Dollars)

Olive oil

500 g ground beef

1/2 onion

1 carrot

1 stalk celery

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon sweet paprika

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon chili flakes

1 can tomatoes

1 can kidney beans

Salt and pepper

 

Chop up all the vegetables and cook in the oil for a few minutes. Add in all the spices and mix well and then add the beef. Cook while stirring until all the meat has browned. Add in the beans and the tomatoes and let cook for 45 minutes to an hour. You might have to add some water along the way.

Can be served with rice, guacamole, salsa, tortilla chips or even bread and salad.
